Does this sound like you? A lot of us have a daily routine. Sometimes doing the same thing day after day gets old and you can feel stuck in a rut. This happens with food, too. You find things that work after surgery, so you stick with them. But those same 10 foods get a little boring after a while! It’s so important to try new things once in a while so you don’t “fall off the wagon” or start making poor choices. To help you get out of that rut, try a new food that you’ve never had before. Have you ever tried kale, quinoa or pomegranate? Give them a try. Search for new recipes and set a goal to try one new recipe per week. You may find a new favorite to add to your routine. Are you stuck in a rut with exercise? Mix it up and try something new there, too. If you have a smartphone, search for some free fitness apps. There are many of them that can help add variety into your exercise routine. Sign up for a new class at the gym, start walking with your coworkers at work or do whatever new exercise that sounds fun to you. In other areas of life, it’s good to change things up a bit as well. Sometimes a new hair color, a new book to read, a new hobby or a new friend can keep life interesting. Routines can often become dull, lead to boredom, which may lead to poor choices. So don’t be afraid to try something new. You may love it and it just might be good for you, too!
